I purged my shoes when we moved to Colorado.... I guess 50+ pairs is a little excessive. Proud to say I am down to only a few (by comparison).

I would love that Pete! Ben kinda read over your response to, "What does it mean for Redeemer to live on mission?" and you made some great observations and points. I'd love to fully hear what you had to say on that question.

Gavin, What an articulate post. I've been thinking many of the same thoughts. I'd love to sit down and talk about what 'doing justice' practically means for us at Redeemer and as Christians.

Gavin, I admire your original list and your follow up. It looks like you had a great year to me! And I can think of an accomplishment or two that you hadn't thought of adding a year ago...

If you would of bought the gun, you could have sped to a grocery... Robbed it, got your savings, and enough money to pay for two more centuries. Ha

Good thoughts Gavin.

"God revealed many of my idols."

This statement alone was well worth the trip and I couldn't agree more. Pride, self-sufficiency and behavior-based religion are the idols that keep calling for me to return as I depart my own personal Egypt. Essentially they are all wrapped up in the same thing...trying to do it alone. Rancho Santa Marta was a perfect picture for me of "not doing it alone." For decades they have relied upon others to help them with the ministry and they couldn't accomplish what they have by doing it on their own efforts.

With that said, I loved the fellowship with the larger body of Christ from Redeemer. Working late in the clinic only allowed for me to connect with people late at night, so hanging with you guys at the fire was definitely one of the highlights for me.
