Biography
Without divulging too much information online…
I was born in Florida to parents that can best be described as wild spirits. We soon moved to the Central Valley of California to the comfort of family and the prospect of work. I am the oldest of many siblings, and have the typical sense of responsibility that is associated with the eldest child. Despited staying within a twenty mile radius, I moved around as though my dad was in the military. I did well in school and involved myself in the nerdy activities. I also dreamed of playing as a power forward for the Sacramento Kings. I’ve never broken a bone, had any serious illness, or been told I have cavities (although I’m sure I do now). I began going to church as a child because I wanted to get cinnamon rolls every Sunday morning. I kept going to church because God found me. My dad put me to work at an early age and I attribute that to my work ethic. After graduating from high school I spent too many years in a Junior College trying to figure out my life. I changed majors often and fell in love with many subjects. Philosophy captured my imagination. At one point I was content to be a ski bum for the rest of my life. I tried, unsuccessfully, flipping houses with my dad in 2007. I traveled to Uganda in March of 2007 for a month and fell in love with people. I stopped going to church and found it again. This time theology captured my imagination and dreamed of going to seminary and writing books. I got to know my wife when she was immobilized from a knee surgery. I married her and had an incredible son. In the meantime, I began working as a project engineer for a general contractor.
Life is complicated and my life is no different.
My story is better told over coffee.
